Jennifer Black, LAc, Dipl OM, MTOM

Jennifer is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Board Certified Herbalist. Jennifer studied at both the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in New York City and Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, CA where she graduated summa cum laude and received the Dean's Scholarship. She has done internships at the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Hospital in Burbank, and the Being Alive HIV Clinic in West Hollywood. She has also completed CranioSacral Therapy training (CST 1 & 2) through The Upledger Institute. She studied Herbal Dermatology with the esteemed Mazin Al-Khafaji, and is a member of the International Registry of Chinese Medicine Dermatology & Inflammatory Disease. She also incorporates aspects of Functional Medicine in her practice, utilizing lab work to inform her treatment strategies when appropriate. 


Jennifer's clinical interests include the use of herbal medicine for dermatology work, and acupuncture, herbal medicine and/or nutritional counseling for pain management, psycho-emotional issues, adrenal fatigue, inflammatory bowel disease, thyroid disorders, and internal medicine.

Kaylie Hopper, LAc, MTOM


Kaylie is a California licensed acupuncturist and herbalist and is currently completing her national certification by the NCCAOM in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She graduated with honors from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica with a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine. In addition to her clinical hours at Emperor’s Clinic, she also held an internship at the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center in Burbank. She is currently working on becoming a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) via advanced training in both Western and Eastern reproductive medicine. Although she treats many common ailments within her practice, her current specialties lie in women’s health issues, fertility support, and mood/ emotional imbalances. One of her main objectives as a practitioner is patient education and empowerment, allowing the patient to be an active participant on their healing journey.

Kaylie’s clinical interests include women’s health, infertility, irregular menstrual cycles, digestive disorders, pain management, stress and mood disorders, endocrine disorders, internal medicine, personalized herbal therapy and nutritional counseling, and supplementary support during cancer treatment.

Christian Toscano, LM, CPM


Christian is a Licensed Midwife (LM), Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Clinical Herbalist. She graduated from Birthwise Midwifery School, a MEAC accredited 3-year program. Christian's passion for women's health began in 2010 when she completed a Doula training course. Since then she has attended hundreds of births in several busy home birth, birth center and hospital practices; many of which were successful "VBAC's". She worked at a woman's wellness clinic providing abortion counseling, pregnancy support and reproductive options counseling. She trained with Spinning Babies in optimal fetal positioning and body balancing techniques. In 2011 she apprenticed at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine for two years. During this time she assisted the Director and Clinical Herbalist at a free community health clinic. She has a private herbal medicine practice where she wildcrafts, grows and extracts most of the medicines offered.

Maureen Black


Maureen is a Reiki Master in the Usui Ryoho System of Reiki, is a Holistic Nutritionist and holds a Certification in Yoga Therapy. She completed her Level I Reiki training with Alexandra Juliani at The American Reiki Academy, and her Level II training with Tanya Love at Spirit House Collective. She received her Certification in Holistic Nutrition from the AFPA, and her Yoga Therapy training was through Lea Kraemer, of the Prana Mandir  yoga school, with emphasis on the tradition of Kundalini Yoga. She lives in Echo Park with her cat Bumba and loves to cook and come up with recipes that fit into protocols of restricted diets. She also loves spending time in nature, practicing kundalini yoga and meditation, and exploring California. Once a month she is a participating practitioner in the Cancer Support Reiki Circle at The Cancer Support Community-Benjamin Center.
